Next Stop, Lanzarote!

We had a lovely family Christmas.  I love to have all of us together under one roof!  On Christmas Eve we went to Dublin to shop with the crowds just for the fun of it!  We ate at a lovely pub and had a wonderful day.  On Christmas morning we walked the dogs and then hung out at home.  Christmas dinner was roast duck, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, and brussel sprouts.  We made Mom's fabulous Christmas cookies and enjoyed good conversation and face time with family.

December 26th is St. Stephen's Day and essentially NOTHING is open until evening when the pubs open up to celebrate the religious holiday...  We mostly relaxed and enjoyed each other's company until it was time to leave for our beach vacation to the Canary Islands.

On December 28th we boarded the dogs and then drove to Dublin and boarded the plane! I succeeded in bringing the heaviest piece of luggage.  It was the albatross!  After a 4 hour flight we landed in an Island Paradise.  The Canary Islands are several volcanic islands off the coast of Morocco and belonging to Spain.  We stayed on the island of Lanzarote (pronounced "lan ZA rottie") in the town of Playa Blanca.  It was absolutely beautiful!
