Now the Big Challenge is finding more ways to fill my days. I don't have to drive Haley to school, and I only have to cook for two people. Things are very strange here now! We still don't know what our next move will be, so I am still doing my CLE's to keep up my bar license and now I may need to locate more volunteer activities and obviously need to find some friends here!!
I took Haley's books and uniform to Moyne for them to use as needed. They were happy to have the things and the clothes so it was fun to drop it off.
Haley's Gaelic Football Team was in the County Final in September so I went to that and met the other moms and it was loads of fun. Have been alone a bit lately because Steve has had to travel quite a bit, but we have found some time for adventures when he is home. Turns out, we can get out a bit more now when he is here because we don't have to get Haley to practice half way across the country, or to games all over hill and dale! It has freed us up a bit, so we will take advantage of that. Also, with Zach here, we can leave the dogs home for quick weekend trips and things, so that has worked well at times.
Steve had an awards dinner in Dublin one night and they were putting him up at the Pembroke Townhouse. This is actually the same place where Joel, Jewel and Collin stayed when they were in Dublin! We had to get him fitted for a tuxedo - and Matt O'Brien's in downtown Longford was able to swing it and make the alterations in a day! Steve also had to add pages to his passport (I told you he's been traveling A LOT!) so he combined the Dublin trip with an appointment at the US Embassy for the next morning.
I went along with him and though I couldn't go to the awards dinner, I did go out to a pub, Searson's, on my own for dinner and had a fabulous time! They told me to sit at the bar, and the bartenders all chatted with me and made sure I was having a nice time and really, it was a lot of fun. I got to watch a soccer game on TV and it was Everton playing and the goalkeeper is Tim Howard! They won and that was grand! I met up with Steve and his co-workers later at the Ballsbridge Hotel and we had some beers and good conversation and then went back to our hotel. The next day we went to the American Embassy and took care of the passport issue and then headed home.
I am confident I will find things to do and there are always more places to see!
