Tradfest in Dublin

Continuing with our TradFest activities, we spent the rest of our time listening to great music.

On Saturday night we went to St. Patrick's Cathedral to hear The Levellers.  They were great!  The name comes from a time during the English Civil War in the 1640's when a group of people put out pamphlets arguing that all people, rich or poor, should be treated equally under the law.  The name given to them was actually derisive, given to them by their opponents to show the threat of their dangerous ideas.  Anyway, we had a lovely time.  They have quite a following!  Prior to the concert starting, a man came out to tell us alcohol was not allowed on the premises, except if it is the blood of Christ....

On Sunday we went to Temple Bar to hear some traditional Irish music.

While we were in Temple Bar, a parade went by.  I snapped my picture too late... Those guys with the Irish pipes move at a pretty good clip!

Next we went to Fitzsimons to see Mundy.  The concert was free, but we had to book tickets in advance and our names were on a list allowing us entrance - we felt so important.  Mundy has the most-watched version of Galway Girl on You Tube apparently.  It was great craic!!

We had a great time and then went to get dinner before heading back home.
