When we left Ballintoy, we traveled on some  super tight and windy roads with fantastic views and lots of sheep. Even saw one giving birth in a field! First stop was The Giant's Causeway so we could hike and take pictures and see the best nature has to offer!

The Giant's Causeway is a gorgeous part of the Northern Coast of  Ireland.  The rock formations were   created by cooling lava from volcanic eruptions 60 million years ago.  There are many layers and the lava cooled in hexagonal shapes.  The cliff is unbelievable, and there are numerous paths to hike and the causeway itself is along a fantastic hiking path that goes all across the northern coast.  There are many hostels in the small towns along the coast to aid those who choose to hike the Northern Coast.

I personally would like to go back to the Causeway and do more hiking around the area.  The formations are amazing, the sea is beautiful, and I would happily do it again.  The name comes from the legend of  Finn McCool.  Legend  has it that he was the giant who lived there with his family and created the causeway!  There is much more to the story, and another giant from Scotland, but you can learn more about it by visiting the Causeway and experiencing it yourselves!  Great adventure!
