Ferrycarrig Hotel in Wexford

On the weekend, Steve, Haley and I traveled to Wexford for a soccer game.  We went a day early so we could see some things around there.  It is a beautiful area along the southeastern coast of Ireland, within easy distance to Rosslare Harbour where you could take a ferry to Great Britain or even France!  It would be a great trip in the summer as it is very mild, along the coast and there are lots of beaches.  It is also just a ferry-ride away from Waterford, and a short boat ride to the uninhabited Saltee Islands.

We stayed at the Ferrycarrig Hotel in Wexford which is located right on the River Slaney.  These are shots from the balcony of our room.  We were, by the way, lucky to have a room at all!  We arrived and gave them our name and  they couldn't find our reservation.  Turns out, Himself  made the online reservations for JANUARY!!!  But, never getting ruffled, the hotel clerk located the last room available for the night and we snapped it up in relief!  It was a lovely hotel and buffet breakfast was included in the price.
