HIYA

The official greeting appears to be "Hiya" which covers "Hello how are you?" in two short syllables!  I use it frequently at the mall when walking the dogs.

Last Friday, while walking the dogs, Chloe chose to take a dip in the river.  I was looking back  at Rugby (who often walks slower than Chloe) and I looked up and all I could see was Chloe's leash along the ground and over the side of the riverbank.  It's a small river.  I could also hear splashing and the ducks were flying and quacking and it was pure chaos!  I am sure people really appreciate the loud American with the obnoxious dogs...  The guys who work there think I should let her off lead to splash around to her heart's content.  They say the river is "relatively clean"!  It seems a lot of people walk their dogs without leashes at all in Ireland, but at the mall, all the dogs are leashed.  I am thankful for that as Rugby and Chloe get pretty wound up when they see other dogs.

Plastic Wrap Update:  I have seen plastic wrap at the store that DOES have the serrated edge, so I guess Steve just bought some cheap stuff!

Word Updates:

Take Away - that is what you call it when you are buying food for pick-up at a restaurant.  Restaurants that have this advertise as Take Away.  (some also provide delivery)

Off Licence - this means you can buy alcohol in a bottle to go from the restaurant.

C'mon Lads! -May be used to cheer on a team - men AND women!

Unlucky! - Called out at a match when someone has a bad pass, misses a goal, gets a goal scored on them, basically anytime something "bad" happens, I guess to say it's just bad luck and shake it off!

Up Mayo! - This is  showing support for your team:  you say Up (your team name)!
Can't think of any others at the moment, but I will say I thoroughly enjoy listening to the radio.  I like listening to the banter in the Irish accent.  Even people who just call in have a wonderful way of telling a story that makes me smile as I listen.  I can't explain it, but I like to hear it!
