On our first night, we just had dinner and then stayed in. It was already about 5 or 6 when we arrived. We had a lovely dinner and then I conked out pretty hard! It was very quiet and peaceful in our room. We were going to try to get up in the night to see if we could catch some of the aurora borealis, but... (Actually, the week before would have been spectacular as there was a lot of solar flare activity, but there it is so....)
This is Amy Pinski. I don't know what it is, but whenever she visits, we get some pretty spectacular sunshine! The next few shots I took while we were walking up the hill from the Tavern to go see the ruins of a 15th Century Church and The Wee House of Malin.
Baa, Ram, Ewe! Do they appreciate the View?! Baa, Ram, Ewe!
Baby lambs!!! What's funny is they were marked with numbers. So a mom would have a number, like 68, and all her little ones would have it painted on them as well!
Heading down a rather steep hill...
As we headed down, this lovely pup came to check us out. She sniffed us up and then followed me so closely that my hand swung and hit her in the head. Thank goodness she was a friendly pooch. No collar, but clearly had a home. These pictures were taken on our way back up the hill. I wasn't quick to pull out the camera while she was deciding whether or not we were friend or foe!
